Asennus Saario Oy has been merged into Riikonen Group Oy as of October 31st 2010. Asennus Saario has been a subsidiary of Riikonen Group since year 2004.

Minister of Labour Sinnemäki visits Riikonen Group

Minister Anni Sinnemäki visited the manufacturing facilities of Pallotie unit during her trip to the Pirkanmaa area 2.11.2009. During the short visit Mr. Harri Sjöholm of SWOT Consulting Group held a presentation of the structural change in the machine building industry.
Riikonen Group gave a presentation of the company to Sinnemäki and discussed the impacts of the economic recession with her. Also present were Riitta Varpe and Erkki Lydén of TE Centre.
A New Training Model

”We are glad to tell about this mutual agreement. It’s reflecting future hope and our will to keep the young professionals in the metal branch also in more turbulent economical situation”, comments Production Manager Jarmo Jutila from the Riikonen Group.
The “learn while you work” type of schooling was changed to the new specified training model. This was made to help the trainees to continue their metal industry practicing period. The parts of this agreement are: Riikonen Group, Economic Development Centre of Pirkanmaa and the Vocational School of Tampere.
The new model has got a lot of attention in the different Finnish industrial interest groups, employment centres and educational organizations. The model was also presented by the national MTV3 news.
Vesa Routamaa appointed as Project Manager

Engineer
Vesa Routamaa was appointed as Project Manager as of 1 January 2009.
Mr. Routamaa will be responsible for the export deliveries.
Previously Mr. Routamaa has been Sales Manager of M-Compnents Oy in Hämeenlinna and responsible for sales, purchase, planning and assembly.
Mika Haukipää appointed as Production Manager

Engineer Mika Haukipää was appointed as Production 
Manager
of Riikonen Group Menotie unit as of 17 November 2008.
Earlier Mr. Haukipää has been Project Engineer of power plant and paper machine projects of YIT Oyj. To the Riikonen Group he came from the Purso Oy, where he worked last 10 years as Production Manager.
New company name and logo

companies”, the founder of the Riikonen Group Oy, Managing Director

New Internet site

The web site of the Riikonen Group has been renewed. Our goal was to make our company communication smoother. The growth of the company operations and the decentralised operations in multiple communities place increasing demands on the communication.
The new site was introduced in August. Feedback will be collected during the latter part of the year, with the fine tuning and eventual improvements made towards the end of 2008.
The production of loaders started in Ylöjärvi

Riikonen
Group started the production of mine loaders towards the end
of June. The contract agreement with Sandvik Mining and Construction
added mine machines as the Riikonen Group’s newest assembly production
line.
The freshly introduced loaders are heavy-duty underground mine machines and are electrically operated.
